A MESSAGE FROM OUR SCA CO-PRESIDENTS

Dear GWL Families,

TRICK OR TREAT! The SCA is giving out plenty of treats! October is already here, can you believe it?!

You hopefully received information from the SCA already this year, but we wanted to take this moment to fully introduce the organization and how everyone can get involved. The SCA plays a vital role in the additional enrichment programs for our children to enjoy throughout the year, so more community involvement results in a better experience for all students at Glenwood Landing. In an effort to keep everyone informed, the SCA will send out monthly newsletters for all upcoming events and activities, and we host member meetings. The SCA also makes this information available on our SCA website, and you can follow us on Instagram @gwlsca, Facebook and REMIND so you won't miss a thing!

Mrs. Finder will be in attendance and will present a brief overview of the RULER program that is used at GWL.

Overview of Glenwood Landing School’s Approach to Social and Emotional Learning – RULER

As part of our ongoing efforts to continue to provide the most impactful experiences for the children and families we serve, we have continue to implement RULER. RULER is an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. Glenwood Landing School has been using this approach for the past six years to help children understand and manage their feelings in order to make more responsible decisions, have stronger relationships, and perform better in school.

New Website Alert!

The brand new GWL SCA website has a new look and function! We have partnered with a service called Membership Toolkit to bring you all things SCA related in an easy, functional, more streamlined way. Now you can sign up for volunteer opportunities, pay your dues, access our online school directory*, stay connected to the SCA and more with our new service. So before you do anything else, register on our new site to gain access to all of this exciting information! Once registered, you can:

Sign-up to receive important communications
Complete your directory information
Volunteer
Donate
Access the online directory and app (for SCA members only)*
Access to content website pages just for our families and members

Spirit Wear Update

The deadline to order Spirit Wear was September 30th. Orders are being fulfilled and delivered so hang tight! Thank you to all who supported this fundraiser and to Brandi Jerabek for organizing!

Another Spirit Wear sale will be announced in the near future. Stay tuned!

Equinox Roslyn is proud to sponsor a night of Charity for the Glenwood Landing Elementary SCA on Thursday, October 21st.

Come for a Tarot Card reading, spooky cocktail and leave your soul on the dance floor!

Tarot Card Reader: 5:30 PM- 6:30PM

Dance Class: 6:30PM- 7:30 PM.
